U.S. renewable services leaders Wind Turbine & Energy Cables Corp ('WTEC") and its engineering affiliate, RERC, will venture on a project to engineer and design a five-megawatt solar power plant for IAMGOLD㠒osebel Gold Mine in Suriname, South America. The solar power plant will help to reduce electricity cost to the Rosebel Gold Mine, free up some of the country㠥lectricity capacity for other users, and comply with Suriname㠥nvironmental commitment to the United Nations Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (⅄D頰lus mechanism.

WTEC㠣lose collaboration with the Government of Suriname and experience in the energy and renewables sectors are a winning combination in reducing electricity costs in IAMGOLD㠓uriname operations. Electricity is currently one of Rosebel Gold Minesയp costs.

Solar: America's Fastest Growing Job-Creation Engine

According to Forbes, solar is ᠳuccess, most importantly at creating jobs/p>

The Solar Foundation has just released its annual Jobs Census which shows that the solar industry, the fastest growing sector in the U.S. economy which grew 13% in 2012, has added 13,800 jobs so far this year from a base of about 105,000 employees.

These are mostly jobs downstream in the value chain ଩ke installers and the companies providing the logistics and equipment for installers to do their job. There are also thousands being employed in the new financing business around the solar economy and the software and information technology services required to patch it into our aging power grid.
